This green tea is hand plucked, withered, steamed and fired. Green tea has been drunk for many thousands of years as a healthy beverage. Taste
Mildly tannic, with mellow hints of blackberry leaf and zingy ginger.

N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a form of the amino acid cysteine. NAC is used in the body to make glutathione peroxidase - one of the body's most naturally occurring antioxidants. NAC raises glutathione peroxidase levels in the body better than taking glutathione alone. NAC has been shown to provide numerous health benefits to the body, such as promoting heart health, supporting immune function, and helping to protect the body from toxins. The cysteine found in NAC is important for supporting healthy hair and nails. *

N-acetyl cysteine is known to help support more intense detoxification processes such as alcohol poisoning, carbon monoxide poisoning, and many others. Talk with a healthcare professional for further information about NAC.*

Because it is produced in the body, it is referred to as "nonessential," meaning that no food or supplements are necessary for humans to ingest. Because L-Arginine is naturally converted into nitric oxide by the human body, researchers have conducted preliminary studies to determine the effectiveness in using it as a supplement for supporting cardiovascular health. Other studies indicate that L-Arginine promotes immune health and liver support. Athletes supplement with L-Arginine for its benefits in maintaining lean muscle mass while performing strenuous exercise.*

Carnitine is an amino acid that acts as a vitamin-like compound, responsible for the transport of long-chain fatty acids into energy producing cell units. Carnitine is essential because it is critical in the transport of fatty acids into the mitochondria. Since the carrier molecule for fatty acids, acyl-CoA, cannot penetrate the cell membrane of the mitochondria without carnitine, a deficiency in carnitine results in decreased fatty acid concentrations in the mitochondria and, as a result, reduced energy production. L-Carnitine is only found in animal food sources such as meat, poultry and dairy products. L-Carnitine can be made in the human body, although premature infants and some adults do not make sufficient amounts. Carnitine is a popular supplement for heart health, liver health, and weight loss.*

This organic Hawthorn supplement contains the leaves, flowers, and berries of organic Hawthorn, which contain a variety of bioflavonoids; potent antioxidants that appear to be primarily responsible for the cardiac actions of the plant.

Hawthorn has been used for a millennia as both a food and a medicine. The current use of Hawthorn for heart support dates back to the 17th century, where an Irish doctor was known to have secretly used it for the heart. After his death in 1894, his daughter revealed the famous cure to be a tincture of the ripe berries. Hawthorn had a brief period of use in the American clinical practice between the turn of the century and the 1930's. Initially, Hawthorn berries were the principal part used medicinally, but currently it is believed that the flowers and leaves are also beneficial.

Despite the emerging studies, researchers have not been able to attribute its use to one specific constituent marker. In fact, there are a couple of different markers available in standardized extracts commercially. We believe that the whole herb contains many constituents that work together - as nature intended.

Warnings & Disclaimers:
Before taking Hawthorn consult with a health care professional if taking prescribed cardiac glycosides or blood pressure medicines.  Not recommended for use during pregnancy or while nursing, until further research verifies no contraindications. Keep out of reach of children.  Discontinue if unusual symptoms occur. Do not exceed recommended dose unless under the guidance of a health care professional.
