Marshmallow, Althea officinalis, is a soothing, moisturizing,
anti-inflammatory herb. It is excellent for easing digestive irritation
and bringing moisture (mucilage) to the tissues. Use Marshmallow root
in tea blends for coughs and respiratory irritation, as well.
Eucalyptus  leaves contain eucalyptol, a common flavoring ingredient in commercial mouthwash, cough drops and vaporizer fluids. Ginger is helpful for boosting digestive health, gentle
cleansing, pain relief, circulation, and increasing the absorption rate
of foods, medicines, vitamins and minerals.
Licorice has been used in Eastern and Western herbal traditions to make coughs more productive and as a vitalizing herbal tonic. Bayberry (Myrica cerifera) is a circulatory stimulant. It is warming and encourages "flow" throughout the body. It dissolves excess mucous and helps it pass from the body. Bayberry is often found in cough and cold formulas as it breaks up mucous and contains anti-microbial essential oils. It is excellent as a gargle for sore throats. As a mouthwash, it supports good oral hygiene.

Bayberry is an astringent herb, and it is helpful in cases of diarrhea and dysentery. It is also used for excessive menstrual bleeding and uterine discharge.

Gently nurturing and a friend of women.

Herbal Power
Supports healthy menstruation, tones the uterus and may be used for menstrual cramps.*

Reason to Love
Of course, the delectable fruit of Rubus idaeus is a well-known and well-loved summer treat, but it's the raspberry leaf you'll find in this tea. With a silvery under leaf that is reminiscent of the moon's glow, European and Native American women have used raspberry leaf for thousands of years for menstrual support, menstrual cramps and during pregnancy as a healthy tonic to help prepare the womb for childbirth.* We love this tea for its gently nurturing properties, and its robust taste, which is reminiscent of a delicate and mildly fruity black tea.

Taste
Full-bodied, like a fine black tea (without the caffeine!).

Reason to Love
Slippery elm or Ulmus rubra (Latin for 'red elm,' so called for its lovely reddish bark) is a beautiful, native North American elm tree. It's the inner bark of this tree that is actually called 'slippery elm' due to its, yes, slippery, smooth, and slimy-in-a-good-way properties. Combined with licorice and marshmallow root, we think this tea blend is like taking your voice to the spa-because we all need a little comfort sometimes so we can get back to being our best.

Taste
Sweet and earthy, silky, with a distinct licorice taste.

The Slippery Elm is native to eastern Canada, and the eastern and central United States, where it is found mostly in the Appalachian Mountains. Its name refers to the soothing slippery consistency the inner bark assumes when it is chewed or mixed with water. Native American healers have used the dried inner bark of Slippery Elm trees for centuries, internally and externally.

From 1820 to 1960, the bark was listed in the U.S. Pharmacopoeia as a demulcent, emollient and antitussive. Slippery Elm has been used in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine for gastrointestinal symptoms.

Presently the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognizes Slippery Elm as a safe and effective option for sore throat and respiratory irritation due to coughs.

Our organic Goldenseal is harvested at its peak potency from the fertile volcanic soils of our certified organic farm.

Goldenseal is another popular herb among the Native Americans that evolved to become an official herbal remedy in the United States Pharmacopeia. It has traditionally been referred to as "King of the Mucous Membranes," as it was known to help regulate secretions of the mucous membranes.

Goldenseal contains powerful alkaloids, giving it the distinctive yellow-gold color. Presently, this herb is one of the five top-selling herbal products in the United States.

Organic cultivation of this important plant is necessary to preserve diminishing wild stocks, in short supply from many years of over-harvesting. Our organic Goldenseal is from our certified organic farm and the rhizomes and roots are freshly harvested, dried, milled and promptly encapsulated.
